VW Camper-Hire rent the campervans on the following conditions:
Vehicle Condition & Hire Arrangements
The vehicle will be provided with a full tank of petrol and should be returned full. Any shortfall in petrol will be taken from the security deposit. All vehicles use unleaded 95 grade petrol.
Gas will be provided free to the hirer. Each vehicle is supplied with an onboard gas bottle.
The vehicle will be delivered to your home address to commence hire and will be returned to the same address by the hirer at the conclusion of the hire period (unless otherwise agreed between hirer and VW Camper-Hire). The cost of petrol for the outward and return journey from VW Camper-Hire premises to the hirer's home will be added to the total bill.
The vehicle will be supplied to the hirer clean and to a suitable standard. The hired vehicle must be returned clean inside and up to VW Camper-Hire standard (a charge of £10 per hour will be levied to bring the vehicle up to VW Camper-Hire standard if returned unsuitable which will be taken from the security deposit).
Any speeding/parking/congestion charge fines incurred during the hire period are the responsibility of the hirer and must be paid by the hirer.
The hirer will be responsible for checking oil and fluid levels and topping up oil and fluids as required - we will show you where the filling caps are before you set off on your journey.
There is no restriction on mileage covered under the hire agreement however all vehicles are hired for UK travel only.
Security Deposit
A security deposit of £500 is required before the vehicle is hired and will be returned seven days after return conditional on the satisfactory condition of the hired vehicle. This shall be paid in cash, cheque or travellers cheque before commencement of hire.
Insurance Cover
The driver/s of the hired vehicle must have held a full driving license for more than two years.
Production of the driving license/s (photocard and paper license) and proof of address (utility bill, bank statement etc..) is required prior to start of hire.
The insurance cover provided is fully comprehensive. The rate includes a standard excess of £1,000 which is payable by the hirer in the event of an accident.
The vehicle is hired at a cost which includes insurance for one driver, an additional driver can be added at a cost of £5.00 per day.
There is also an insurance surcharge for holders of non UK driving licenses, this cost will be passed on to the hirer where applicable.
Driving licenses need to be free of endorsements except minor speeding offences and with no previous disqualifications. Drivers with a history of accidents may be refused hire or may have to pay an additional insurance surcharge.
VW Camper-Hire reserve the right to cancel the hire agreement if it is found the hirer's license, or any additional drivers license, is not valid or is not in accordance with conditions set out above and the hirer will forfeit the hire charge.
VW Camper-Hire reserve the right to refuse hire to any person without explanation or prior warning.
Insurance cover does not include damage to windscreens or tyres, any damage to these parts the hirer is liable for costs of repair.
The hirer is responsible for their own insurance to cover personal items.
The hirer is responsible for the care, security and condition of the campervan throughout the hire period.
The hirer is responsible for the cost of repair to damage of the hire vehicle caused through negligence or improper use, any cost of repair will be taken from the security deposit. Where the cost of repair exceeds the security deposit the outstanding balance of repair costs will be passed on to the hirer.
The hirer will ensure the vehicle is locked when unattended and not leave the vehicle unattended whilst the ignition key is in the vehicle or if the CD faceplate has not been removed. The hirer will also ensure any insured driver does not drive the vehicle other than on a public road.
In the unfortunate event of any vehicle/traffic accidents the accident must be reported by the hirer to the emergency services and the hirer must inform VW Camper-Hire immediately.
VW Camper-Hire will use all reasonable endeavours to have a vehicle available for hire at the time agreed. However, if outside of VW Camper-Hire control, a vehicle cannot be supplied due to unforseen circumstances VW Camper-Hire will give a full refund to the hirer but will not be liable for any other costs.
Restrictions
VW Camper-Hire operate a strict no smoking policy in all vehicles and awnings.
Pets/animals allowed in one of our hire vehicles by prior arrangement.
Pick-up and Return Times
Pick up and return times of the hired vehicle are subject to agreement of VW Camper-Hire and the hirer. Late return of a hired vehicle will mean the hirer paying a penalty charge of £25 per late hour.
No refund will be paid if a hired vehicle is returned to VW Camper-Hire prior to the arranged return date.
Cancellation Charges
Charges for cancellation of booking are as follows:
Cancellation notice received by VW Camper-Hire in writing:
- More than 6 weeks before commencement of hire date - booking deposit (non-refundable)
- 6 weeks to 2 weeks before commencement date - 50% of total hire charge
- 2 weeks to commencement date - total hire charge
Breakdown Repair
In the unlikely event of any repair to the vehicle being carried out whilst on hire any payment over £50 needs to be authorised by VW Camper-Hire. Any payment made relating to minor repairs (i.e. lights, fuses etc..) will be refunded by VW Camper-Hire upon receipt being presented.
VW Camper-Hire will provide, at no cost to the hirer, standard breakdown cover, details of which will be provided to the hirer.
In the unlikely event of a hired vehicle needing repair whilst on hire due to breakdown (excluding accident), and the vehicle cannot be repaired within a reasonable time period, VW Camper-Hire reserve the right to substitute for another vehicle or refund the hirer at a cost equal to pro-rata percentage of hire cost for each full day's non-usage.
VW Camper-Hire will not be held liable for any direct or indirect losses incurred (financial or otherwise) arising from campervan breakdown or accident.
